Data Analysis Based on Text Mining: Take Apple as an Example



Partnered with four statistic students:

• Analyzed publications’ performances with Python by reading raw data from over 24169 stories in 6 months
• Visualized data with word clouds and used sentiment analysis to dig out the hidden information inside each story and associated the outcome with the real-industry using R
• Since Apple launched Apple Watch in March 9 and held Worldwide Developer Conference in June, we notice an exploration of news during this period.
• Improved the method of Naive Bayes Classifier by creating compression matrix to predict future stock return based on current news stories
